Balmain Town Hall
Last updated Friday, 26 Nov 2010.Balmain Town Hall is a general purpose hall available for hire by the public (individuals, groups and organisations) for a variety of uses including - private functions, community events, profit making ventures, charity/not-for-profit activities and meetings/conferences. The facility is located within the Leichhardt Local Government Area (LGA) on land which traditionally belonged to the Gadigal & Wangal people, of the Eora nation. The Leichhardt LGA is a unique area with a long cultural heritage and a special beauty that comes from its Sydney Harbour location and 'old suburb' origins. The Leichhardt LGA has a 16km frontage to Sydney Harbour and Parramatta River. Balmain Town Hall was opened in 1888 and in 2009 a major refurbishment project was completed on the site. Balmain Public Library opened on site in 1978.
Co-located facility:Co-located in the same building as Balmain Library and the Balmain Town Hall Meeting Room can also be found at the same location as Balmain Town Hall.
